Retirees Council

The Retirees Council provides retired members of the Federation the opportunity to "stay connected" on a number of levels. First, our quarterly meetings give us a chance to remain in personal touch with our fellow former co-workers, and to discuss common problems and issues. Second, our Council is connected with similar retiree groups both locally, through the Rochester Labor Council, and nationally, through the Communications Workers of America. Third, retirees can become directly involved in the general activities of the Federation, and particularly in all of those which benefit the Rochester community at-large.

Retiree Council members are encouraged, for example, to take part in any of the myriad of charitable events that the FSW sponsors and conducts. They can also serve on committees and hold positions within the organization. The president of the Retirees Council is a non-voting member of the FSW Executive Board, providing that body with monthly reports on our activity, planning and finances.

All retired Monroe County workers whose positions were covered in collective bargaining by the FSW are invited to join the Retirees Council. For more information about joining, or to be included on our mailing list, please contact the FSW office at 585.328.7170 or message@fsw-union.org.
Our meeting schedule for 2018:

  • January 22nd
  • May 7th
  • August 20th
  • October 29th

Please join us in our continued efforts to support all human service professionals, as well as those individuals and families in greatest need in the Rochester community.
